Tribute to my Grand Soror Dr. Roseline "Rose" McKinney of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I know time for me to stand up. I met this grand Soror many years ago. I was living in an exclusive Apartment building, arranged by my Dad because he wanted me in a safe building. I lived one floor below the penthouse, and it was easier to catch the elevator going up in a large building like that. Well this great women lived in the Penthouse. The elevators were right outside her Apartment door, I could see her Foyer and it was beautiful. Giant beautiful plume like
flowers. One day I spoke to her, and told her that the flowers were amazingly beautiful colors. Yes I spoke first. :) As we talked over the months we found that we were SORORS. She sold turquoise jewelry and she would often try to sell it to me. But, turquoise was not my color. (I know how stupid, Sorors when a Soror is selling something just BUY IT!) But, finally, I would buy something these beautiful earrings pictured here. They were purchased around 1993, grand quality, but they look brand new. My Dad usually picked me up and we would part ways in the lobby, as she would normally exit to the parking garage, but this day she went out front with me, My Dad asked me who that was I was talking to? I says oh that is Rose she lives in the Penthouse. My Dad said that is not her name that is her title.
